Tamera Stambaugh Young Actors/Directors Klein High School c/o 1996
BiographyTamera Stambaugh-Young is from all over the United States. Between her father being in the Navy and the performer/choreography profession she’s chosen, she’s used to packing her suitcases and moving across the country…frequently! But she wouldn’t have it any other way! Tamera has four loves in life: singing, dancing, acting and her husband (in no particular order J). Ever since she was 3 she knew performing is what she wanted to do with her life.
Tamera graduated from Klein High School in Spring, Texas and has since acquired a BFA from Brigham Young University in Musical Theatre. She has been performing since the age of 3. Her first performance was in church, singing a duet with her mother. Since then she has performed all over the world in such countries as Spain and Africa. Some of her favorite Regional credits include: Gloria in Damn Yankees, Polly in Crazy For You, The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Ronnette in Little Shop of Horrors, and Anita in West Side Story as well as the tours of Evita and Into The Woods.
Tamera has studied a variety of vocal techniques for over 13 years from teachers and coaches from all over the country. She has studied with vocal coaches such as Marcie Jacobsen of Salt Lake City, Utah, Seth Riggs of Los Angeles, California who coaches Celine Dion, Michael and Janet Jackson, and Barbara Streisand. She also studied with Brett Manning of Nashville, Tennessee who is the vocal coach to country star Keith Urban.
Tamera has also studied ballet, jazz, modern, tap, ballroom, and hip-hop for over 12 years. Some styles come more naturally to her than others, but nevertheless she loves all of them equally. She also loves to choreograph. She loves to create and when you choreograph anything is possible…there are no boundaries or limits…just your imagination! She has choreographed everything from small productions with a cast of three to a large stadium show featuring The Osmonds and the band Alabama. Some of her favorite choreography experiences are: The Music Man, Evita, four productions of Joseph…, Singin’ In The Rain, Annie Get Your Gun, Anything Goes, Grease and Footloose.
From the time Tamera was very young she understood the impact music and theatre can have on a person…that’s what she was drawn to. She loves that anybody can and does go to the theatre. And no matter their problems or situation in life, everyone is truly created equal for the two or so hours they are there. As a performer or technician or director or choreographer you have the opportunity to take that person on a journey; to help them forget their problems or worries they have and truly entertain them and give them a “vacation” from what everyday life has to offer. www.tamerayoung.comwww.theactorfactory.com/PAGES/tambio.htm
