BiographyIn three seasons at Baylor University, hit .346 (230-for-665) with 147 runs, 44 doubles, 22 homers and 142 RBIs in 172 games...was named First-Team All-America by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and First-Team All-Big 12 as a junior...hit .413 with 11 homers and 67 RBI, and set a Big 12 Conference record with 121 hits...led the league in batting and finished second with 84 runs and 180 total bases...the second-ranked position player out of the state of Texas by Baseball America, Murphy also posted a .487 on-base percentage and .614 slugging percentage...played for Wareham in the Cape Cod League during the summer of 2002, helping the Gatemen to the league title...was named the No. 22 prospect in the Cape League by Baseball America after ranking fifth with a .304 batting average...was the West League's starting outfielder in the mid-season All-Star Game and was named to the league's postseason All-Star team...was also crowned Wareham's team co-MVP...graduated from Klein High School in Spring, Texas. http://mlb.mlb.com/team/player_career.jsp?player_id=461815;
