Amelia Marshall Actors/Directors High School For the Performing and Visual Arts All My Children, Guiding Light, Stuart Little 2, Passions
BiographyThe second of three children, Marshall was born in Albany, Georgia. However, her formative years were spent between Amityville, New York and Atlanta, Georgia, before her family finally settled in Houston, Texas. High school was four years at the High School of The Performing and Visual Arts in Houston. That experience led to studying with the Houston Ballet and membership with the Houston Jazz Ballet Company, directed by film star Patrick Swayze's mother, highly revered dance veteran Patsy Swayze.
Marshall went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her bachelor's degree in business administration. From that point, Marshall began to pursue her love of performing full time. Her credits include featured roles in the Broadway productions of Bob Fosse's "Big Deal," "Harrigan and Hart" and "Porgy and Bess"; and an appearance at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., in Duke Ellington's production of "Queenie Pie." Additionally, she had the distinguishing honor of performing with the Houston Grand Opera in Scott Joplin's "Treemonisha."
Prior to joining the cast of "Guiding Light" for a six-year run as Gilly Grant, Marshall appeared as Miranda on "One Life to Live," and appeared in the cable special, "Robert Klein on Broadway."
When not working, the free-spirited actress enjoys knitting, baking and reading. However, her one "true vice" happens to be amusement parks. She frequents them whenever her busy schedule allows and boasts an unchallenged "ride the wildest rides" record. www.imdb.com/name/nm0550741/www.soapcentral.com/ps/theactors/marshall.php
