Robert Dodd Baseball Plano High School
BiographyDodd was 10-5 with a 3.55 ERA and 135 strikeouts in 26 games for Somerset in 2001. He was the 2001 Atlantic League Playoff MVP for his 1-0 record, 1.50 ERA and 12 strikeouts in 12 innings during the Championship Series against the Newark Bears.
He has Major League experience with the Philadelphia Phillies and has played most of his career in the Phillies organization, with four seasons at the Triple-A level.
Dodd has a 49-28 minor league career record with a 3.47 ERA and 588 strikeouts in over 682 innings pitched. The Patriots re-signed this 2002 "Pitcher of the Year" on April 7, 2003.
He was diagnosed with diabetes during the season, but came back after missing over a month to pick up his first win in over a year. During the post-season, Dodd was moved into the closer position, a role he could find himself again for 2004.
